Underlay
A huge part of purchasing flooring is underlay. The correct underlay will increase the comfort level of your flooring, as well as the lifespan of carpet by a 25 – 50%.
Underlay acts as a shock absorber, protecting flooring from the everyday normal household chaos, ensuring that your flooring remains looking and feeling great.
Some people think it’s OK to reuse the underlay that they already have in place, but old underlay is more likely to show signs of wear and make the carpet wear unevenly, especially in a high traffic area of your home, if the underlay is quite new then that’s fine.
New underlay is highly recommended when installing new carpet.
