Prior to commencing this installation, we tested the subfloor with a hygrometer and it returned a high humidity reading. We ground down all high spots using a diamond blade grinder and repaired the subfloor where needed using a repair compound. We then covered the subfloor with a damp proof surface membrane (DPSM), before using a smoothing compound to achieve the perfect finish for installing the luxury vinyl tiles (LVT). On this job we used the TLC Massimo Invent tile. As the photos illustrate, using a small parquet tile in a herringbone pattern creates a stunning result.
